How the Runs Work

West Ashley and James Island ride the morning loop — the shop’s own side of the river and the three-minute bridge to the island, first slots of every day. The other areas ride planned runs batched by neighborhood: the peninsula leg with its parking arranged in advance, the 526 leg to North Charleston, the island run down Maybank timed around the Limehouse bridge, the bridge run to Mount Pleasant timed away from the Ravenel’s afternoon crawl, the beach run built around Folly’s turnover days, and the southwest run down 17 South. A warm refrigerator or a dead dryer gets pulled to the first opening on any run.

The same parts stock and the same rule ride every run: walk-through before any part, ticket before any work, house file after every visit.

Around the Ashley
Reid beside a stainless electric range in a Charleston kitchen
Propane conversions checked burner by burner
Reid with a top-load laundry machine’s lid raised, checking the drive
The vent decides half the visit
Reid at the sump of a pulled-out dishwasher with the racks removed
Base pan first, then a watched cycle
Reid metering the control housing inside an open French-door refrigerator
Connectors inspected — salt fails the plug before the part
Reid draining a front-load washer’s pump filter into a pan
Hoses older than the machine replaced on the spot
